A shortlist of browser titles worth your evening

Seven long-running worlds, ranked and described in plain terms so you can tell at a glance which one suits the time you actually have.

How this page works

Everything here opens in the tab you already have

Not one title on this page asks you to download an installer or clear space on a drive. You follow a link, the world loads in the browser, and you pick up the same session your account was in yesterday — whether that was on a laptop at home or an entirely different machine.

The line-up spans four broad categories: territorial and space strategy, city and economy building, frontier roleplay, and squad-based tactics. They are grouped that way because the categories differ far more from each other than the individual titles do. Choose the category first and the shortlist gets much shorter.

Progression is earned the same way by everyone. Worlds move on shared timers, construction and research take the hours they take, and there is no route that skips a rung the rest of the players had to climb.

Before your first session

  • Update your browser — these worlds lean on current web standards
  • A steady connection matters more than a fast one
  • Use an email address you can confirm; your progress is tied to it
  • Decide up front how long the session is going to run

Getting started

Three things worth doing in order

01

Pick the category, then the title

Work out first whether you want a long territorial campaign, a slow city that rewards one daily visit, or something you can dip into for twenty minutes. The category narrows seven options down to two or three, and comparing two or three is easy.

02

Register, confirm, then find people

Confirm the address you signed up with — that is what carries your progress between devices. Then look for the in-world groups: alliances, guilds and associations are where the genuinely useful advice sits, and every title on this page has an active community around it.

03

Set the session limit before you start

These worlds run on timers designed to bring you back, which is exactly why the boundary should be yours rather than theirs. Decide the finish time before the first click and play mindfully — a world that will still be there tomorrow does not need tonight.

Common questions

Questions we get asked

Do I need to install anything?

No. Every title listed here runs inside the browser. There is no client to download, no launcher to keep updated, and nothing left behind on your machine if you decide a particular world is not for you.

Does progress carry between devices?

Yes, because progress belongs to the account rather than to the machine. Sign in on another computer and you continue from wherever you stopped. That is also why confirming your email address early is worth the thirty seconds it takes.

Where do the player communities live?

Inside the worlds themselves — alliances, guilds and associations — and in the official forums each publisher runs alongside them. Joining one early is the single biggest difference between a confusing first week and a comfortable one.

How do I keep sessions balanced?

Set the end time before you start rather than during, keep notifications off outside the hours you chose, and treat any world that starts to feel like an obligation as a signal to step back for a few days. Playing mindfully is a habit rather than a setting.
